Question I’m new to Spectra Coffee and not sure what coffee to try. Do you have any recommendations? How do I choose the right coffee for me?

Question Do you sell your coffee as whole bean or ground?
Answer

We offer both! Our coffee is kept as whole beans until you choose your preferred brewing method on the product page. If you prefer your coffee not ground, simply select "Whole Bean."

Question How long does Spectra recommend the coffee “rest” before serving?
Answer

We recommend letting our coffee "rest" for 3 to 7 days after the roast date before serving. This resting period allows the beans to off-gas, making it easier to work with and helping you maintain consistent dial-in settings.

Question What is the suggested shelf life after a bag of coffee has been opened?
Answer

For the best quality, we recommend consuming your coffee within 30 days of the roast date and resealing the bag’s zipper between uses. While coffee after 30 days isn't necessarily bad, it may lose some of its freshness and vibrant flavor.

Question How should I store my coffee?
Answer

Store your coffee in a cool, dry place, such as a cupboard. To keep your beans fresh for longer, be sure to reseal the bag's zipper between uses.

Question Where did my favorite coffee go? When will it be available again?

We update our menu seasonally to ensure we’re offering the freshest coffee selections. Your favorite should make a return next year—something to look forward to! Meanwhile, feel free to explore our latest arrivals. With a wide variety of flavors, you're bound to find something else you'll enjoy.

Question My ground coffee has some lighter particles. Is this normal? What is it?
Answer

Yes, this is normal for lighter roasts. The lighter bits you see are called "chaff," which is the outer layer of the coffee bean. In darker roasts, the chaff is burned away, but it remains in lighter roasts. It doesn’t have a taste, so it won’t affect the flavor of your coffee.

Question What is your production/roast schedule?

We roast our coffee on demand to ensure it's always fresh. After roasting, we package and ship it daily.

Question What is a "Single Origin" coffee?
Answer

"Single origin" refers to coffee that comes from a specific, traceable source—whether it's a particular coffee-growing region, a small community of producers, or even a single farm. Our white-labelled single origin coffees are roasted to highlight the unique characteristics of the beans from these distinct locations.

Question Can I Make Changes to My Order Once I’ve Signed Up?

If you find you're getting too much or too little coffee (though we doubt it!), or if you'd like to try a different bean, you can adjust your order anytime. Just be sure to make changes before your next order confirmation so we can update your preferences in time.

Question Can I Pause My Subscription?
Answer

If you're going out of town or need to take a break, you can easily skip your next order through your customer portal. There's no need to pause your subscription—just skip and pick up where you left off when you're ready.

Question Is There a Minimum Subscription Commitment?
Answer

Nope! All it takes is one bag, one time—no strings attached. You can change your subscription preferences or cancel your order whenever you like.

Question When Is My Coffee Shipped?
Answer

We'll confirm your order on the Monday of your order week and ship it out that Wednesday to ensure you receive the freshest roasted coffee, delivered right to your door.

If you've selected Fil, your order will arrive on the Wednesday of your order week.
